Text message marketing a hot growth area

Text messaging is taking off in the U.S., and, for marketers, this new medium holds enormous promise. Yet, most U.S. marketers have not exploited the medium, mainly because they do not know the potential it holds nor the popularity it enjoys. An SMS marketing campaign can cost as little as 15 cents per message, compared with a minimum cost of $1 per message in a direct mail campaign.
