Popular educational software tested in a U.S. Department of Education study earlier this month is too outdated to show what technology can really do, according to Los Angeles Times columnist Bob Sipchen. Artificial-intelligence technology will assess learning styles and toss up new challenges at a motivating pace, said Carole Beal, a former professor of child development and education, now working in information technology.
