DOD orders 12 more F-35 Lightning II fighter jets

The DOD last week decided to purchase 12 more Lockheed Martin Corp. F-35 Lightning II fighter jets as part of an early production order. It will buy six Air Force planes and six Marine planes. The Air Force order is worth about $1.3 billion, while the Marine order is worth about $1.1 billion, according to media reports.
