N.C. county helps school employees earn teaching certificates

A North Carolina school system that has trouble finding qualified teachers has developed a program to help paraprofessionals, secretaries and other school employees with college degrees earn their teaching licenses. A $2 million U.S. Department of Education grant helps defray the cost of the program participants' tuition, among other expenses.
