Tennessee landscaper thrives with foreign help

Walter Dawson, owner of Dawson Lawn Service Inc. in Chattanooga, Tenn., considers himself lucky to be getting 17 guest workers this year under the H-2B visa program. After 20 years in landscaping, he says he couldn't run his business without the workers who return each year from Guatemala. "They have become friends and family," Dawson says of his guest workers, who work for up to 10 months at a minimum wage of $6.93 per hour or more.
