Michigan city rejects metal shingles for ticket booth

The city council in Saugatuck, Mich., rejected diamond-shaped metal shingles for the roof of a new ticket booth on a Lake Michigan beach and changed the design to include traditional shingles. Architects working on the project noted that the metal roof could withstand high winds blowing in off Lake Michigan. However, some council members noted that the metal roof would not fit in because no other buildings in the city have metal shingles.
