Portland brainstorms for proposed Sustainability Center of Excellence

Green designers in Portland, Ore., brainstormed ideas for the city's proposal to build a Sustainability Center of Excellence. One idea that sparked interest was to use hollow box-beams fashioned from cast-in-place concrete. These would carry the electrical wires and radiant heating data pathways as well as provide building support.
