Colorado reports 1st horse-rabies case of 2010

A horse in Colorado's Arapahoe County was confirmed to be infected with rabies, prompting the state's Agriculture Department to urge pet owners and livestock growers to consult their local veterinarians to prevent virus spread. "Animal owners need to be aware that rabies is transferring from one species to another and they should monitor their animals for symptoms," the state veterinarian said.
