Diet rich in folate, B-6 vitamin protects heart health

Research on Japanese adults showed that eating more food with folate and vitamin B-6 reduced the risk of death from stroke and heart disease among women and from heart failure among men. Researchers said the vitamins may protect the body from cardiovascular disease by lowering levels of homocysteine that can damage arteries and promote blood clots.
