Editorial: More debate needed before reform bill heads to Senate floor

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., and other Republicans should be praised for helping to improve regulatory reform legislation proposed by Senate banking committee Chairman Christopher Dodd, D-Conn., according to a Wall Street Journal editorial. The Dodd bill does not end big bank bailouts, as Democrats claim. The bill improves with each draft, but forcing it onto the Senate floor now would "constitute behavior as reckless as anything we've seen on Wall Street," the newspaper said.
