Obama signs $18 billion bill extending unemployment benefits

President Barack Obama signed into law an $18 billion measure to allow hundreds of thousands of unemployed workers who have exhausted their benefits to start receiving checks again. Obama acted only hours after the bill got final approval from Congress. The law also restores full Medicare payments to doctors who were facing a possible 21% reduction in fees paid by the government.
