Researchers form startup to develop peptide drugs for damaged hearts

Two U.S. doctors have set up a startup, CardioHeal, to work on peptide treatments that can help repair damaged hearts by stimulating the development of cardiac muscle cells. One of the peptides that is being tested is periostin, which appeared to be effective in improving the condition of pigs that were induced to suffer a heart attack.
