EU approval of BMI sale will be appealed by Virgin Atlantic

Saying the European Commission "seemingly ignored all of the strong cases" when it approved the sale of BMI to International Airlines Group, Virgin Atlantic served notice it will appeal the decision. The deal that's set to take effect Friday will give IAG subsidiary British Airways an unfairly large number of slots at London's Heathrow Airport, Virgin says.
