Gen. Odierno: Budget cuts won't weaken Army

A drawdown of forces over the next five years will not translate into a loss of resources or a decrease of capacity, said Army Chief of Staff Gen. Ray Odierno during a recent address to troops. "I want to make sure that we are keeping the best, and I want them to know they have an important role in the future force. My intent is to sustain a high-quality, all-volunteer Army that remains the most decisive land force in the world," Odierno said.
