Lawmakers want CFTC's position limits upheld

Thirty-five Democratic lawmakers have submitted two briefs to a federal judge urging that regulations to limit speculation in commodity markets be upheld. The International Swaps and Derivatives Association and the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association have sued to overturn the regulations, which were approved by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission last year. The groups argue that the CFTC used flawed analyses when it completed the position-limits rule.
