Mirrorless models to compete in high-end camera market

Olympus, Panasonic and Sony are crafting mirrorless cameras to better compete with Canon and Nikon in the high-end, single-lens reflex camera market, according to this news analysis. IDC forecasts that global shipments of mirrorless cameras will grow 60% this year to 6.43 million units, compared with an 18% growth rate for SLRs, which will increase to 16.76 million units in 2012.
