More firms may offer cash to workers who decline health benefits

The federal health care law could lead to more companies offering incentives to workers who forgo health benefits, writes Jeffrey Young. Seventeen percent of employers with at least 500 workers gave workers bonuses for forgoing health benefits last year, and the median payout was about $1,000, according to a Mercer survey.
