PC makers are switching to 2.5-inch drives, IHS iSuppli says

All-in-one PCs are generally made with 3.5-inch hard-disk drives but that could change next year when worldwide shipments of 2.5-inch drives for those desktop computers reach 1 million units, according to IHS iSuppli. The lower-power, slower 2.5-inch HDDs are currently used in laptops and in servers and storage arrays for data centers. The market research firm predicts shipments of 2.5-inch drives for all-in-one PCs will hit 3 million units in 2014 and 7 million units in 2016.
