Is RIM looking to hire a financial adviser?

Struggling BlackBerry-maker Research In Motion is holding talks on whether to hire a bank to help it make a new strategic investment, according to sources who spoke with Bloomberg News. RIM, which has $1.77 billion in cash and short-term investments, may look to license its operating system as it faces a shrinking presence in the North American market. RIM did not comment on the report.
