ACC: EPA, not states, should determine safety of chemicals

Chemical regulation should be handled by the Environmental Protection Agency rather than by states, the American Chemistry Council says. "Any new fire safety chemical is evaluated for its safety and efficacy, and those evaluations are made available to government regulatory bodies before the product is used," ACC said. "State chemical bans are not necessary and often in conflict with other jurisdictions," the council added.
