China raises U.S. Treasury holdings as Japan sells

China raised by 8.7 billion yuan its holdings of U.S. Treasury bonds in February, maintaining its top status as U.S. debt holder while Japan sold U.S. debt for the fourth consecutive month, the U.S. Treasury Department reported. China's total holdings now come to 1.223 trillion yuan.
