Consuming barley may boost satiety, fatty acid rates

Participants who had late-evening meals of barley kernels had increased levels of a satiety hormone and showed lower voluntary energy intake the following day compared with those who ate white wheat bread, a small study revealed. Barley also reduced inflammatory markers and free fatty acid levels, researchers wrote in Nutrition Journal.
