Mobile ad revenue was up 111% to $3.4 billion last year

Spurred by smartphone use and ad exchanges, mobile ad spending now accounts for 9% of all digital revenue, having risen 111% to $3.4 billion in 2012, according to the Interactive Advertising Bureau. "The inventory is there, and the people are there. You combine those elements with localization, and mobile presents a great opportunity," says PricewaterhouseCoopers partner David Silverman.
