N.J. governor says no to PLAs for Sandy-related construction

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie vetoed a bill that would have allowed project-labor agreements on state highway and bridge projects eligible to use post-Sandy reconstruction funding. The bill, favoring union workers, "would significantly alter public contracting in this state at a time when the swift reconstruction, rebuilding, and redevelopment of public infrastructure is a priority," Christie wrote in his veto message.
