SEC looks into increase in electronic bond trading

The Securities and Exchange Commission has scheduled a meeting with market participants to better understand an increase in electronic trading in the corporate-bond market. Electronic execution increased from 5% in 2008 to 14% in 2012, according to TABB Group and an industry association. "Corporate-bond trading is poised to become more electronic in a manner reminiscent with what occurred in equities not long ago," said Anthony Perrotta, CEO of Cornerstone Resources.
