Study: Seniors regularly get meds with side effect risks

U.S. doctors, especially in the South, commonly treat seniors with prescription medicines that carry the risk of dangerous side effects, according to a study in The Journal of General Internal Medicine. More than 20% of Medicare recipients in the South have prescriptions for which advisories have been issued about risky effects in olders patients, the study found.
