Housing costs contribute to rise in Consumer Price Index

The Consumer Price Index rose 0.2% last month after a 0.1% increase in February, outpacing economists' projections. Housing and food costs were driving factors. "The sharp upswing in housing costs could be an early signal of a more sustained push higher in inflation," said Millan Mulraine, deputy chief economist at TD Securities in New York.
