Mead growth outpaces wine and beer

Mead sales grew 130% from 2012 to 2013, with the honey-based brew gaining more momentum than wine, beer, ciders and spirits, according to the American Mead Makers Association. Over the past three years the number of U.S. meaderies has risen from 60 to 194, making up around 2.5% of U.S. wineries.
