Teachers in an Oklahoma school district support more professional development that is timely and effective to help them improve teaching and learning, according to a recent survey. Teachers in Norman, Okla., who were surveyed listed training from the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards among their most positive professional-development experiences. District Superintendent Joe Siano said the goal is to balance the need for high-quality professional development with the need to have teachers in the classroom.
