Siemens is donating nearly $660 million in software to technical high schools and colleges in Massachusetts with an eye on training students for careers in manufacturing. The grant is the largest of its kind in the state. Siemens USA chief executive Eric Spiegel said he sees a major transformation in manufacturing. "What we used to call blue collar, these are not blue collar. Plant workers now walk around with iPads in their hands."
