CPG firms find online advertising works

Consumer goods companies increasingly are sold on the notion that Internet-based ads can boost sales, a sea-change in industry thinking since the advent of online advertising. General Mills, Kraft Foods and Pepsico are among the CPG firms that boosted spending on online ads after Internet media companies and research firms were able to show a direct link between Web-based ads and consumer behavior.
