Service departments boost revenue, study finds

Service continues to be an important revenue stream for many dealers, with nearly a quarter of respondents in a recent survey indicating they get 60% to 80% of total revenues from their service department. The "Service Sells" study by Power Equipment Trade also found that almost three-quarters of dealers charge at least $50 an hour for service. Nearly 600 dealers completed the 33-question survey.
