5 practices that get sites booted from search engines

Some companies that specialize in search-engine optimization lure unwitting small-business owners into using deceptive techniques to attract viewers to their sites, which can get the sites banned from search engines. Social-media strategist Janet Meiners Thaeler suggests avoiding these five practices: keyword stuffing; overused boldface and excessive links; hidden links; complicated link schemes; and multiple domains with the same content.
