Former airline chief drops air taxi plan

Former American Airlines CEO Robert Crandall is pulling the plug on Pogo, the air taxi service he hoped to operate throughout the Northeast using Eclipse 500 very light jets. Crandall said his plan was quashed by the Eclipse bankruptcy and by a credit market that makes financing difficult, "especially in aviation." Though Crandall said he is personally unlikely to pursue another such venture, "You're going to see a lot of alternative models emerge in aviation," he predicted.
