Tennessee veteran to receive flight training in veterans' program

Veterans Retreat Inc., a charity based in Miami that helps wounded veterans, has selected a Kingsport, Tenn., veteran injured in Iraq to visit the Veterans Retreat in Florida, where he will receive training in flight and related activities. The veteran, an Army captain and platoon leader who sustained multiple injuries in a 2006 suicide bomber attack, will learn the fundamentals of aviation, including licensing requirements, aerodynamics, traffic patterns and more.
