Vatican to build Europe's largest solar plant in Italy

The Vatican plans to build Europe's largest solar plant on 740 acres near the medieval city of Santa Maria di Galeria in Italy. The Vatican will spend $660 million on the plant, which will generate enough power for the entire 0.2-square-mile country. The Vatican plans to export the excess wattage from the 100-megawatt facility to Italy.
