Android tablet makers face short supplies, lower prices

Android tablet manufacturers face a double dose of trouble in the form of supply shortages stemming from the earthquake in Japan last month and the need to lower prices on the devices to make additional inroads on Apple's iPad, according to various reports. Several tablet makers have begun pricing their Android models significantly below the iPad's $499 starting price.
