Summer airfare will spike 15% from a year ago, experts say

Airlines have continually raised fares since the start of the year, and industry experts expect airfare this summer to soar 15% compared with last year. Airline representatives said fare increases are needed to adjust for a spike in jet-fuel prices. But higher fares might cause casual travelers, who base their plans on price, to stay at home.
