CBA develops template to speed franchise lending

The Consumer Bankers Association will unveil a lending template intended to help franchisees get through the lending process faster and to strengthen the relationship between franchise owners and banks. The template grew out of a CBA partnership with IFA. "What bankers learned about franchises is that, rather than being riskier than traditional businesses, these businesses have a structure of support around them, a marketing team, and people to step in if a business is in trouble," said Mark Luppi, chairman of CBA's Small Business Committee.
