Open-government movement draws support from tech firms

The move to make the federal government more transparent has led to the creation of the Data Transparency Coalition, which aims to standardize online data and create common legal identifiers for companies that report data to the government. Coalition members include Teradata and Microsoft, and former U.S. Deputy Chief Technology Officer Beth Noveck is an adviser. The group is supporting the proposed Digital Accountability and Transparency Act.
