Procurement teams increasingly involved in marketing, study shows

Almost three-quarters of senior marketers surveyed said that their procurement departments were getting involved in marketing-budget decisions, mostly to cut costs, according to a study by The Observatory. However, more than 7 in 10 said the interference wasn't doing their campaigns much good, and 8% said the involvement was harming their marketing efforts.
