Retail experts ponder Best Buy founder's role

Richard Schulze started Best Buy 46 years ago with a single Sound of Music store that grew into a thriving big-box chain, and he maintained an active role in choosing the two men who succeeded him in the CEO chair. Some retail experts say Schulze's moves to increase his role after the resignation of CEO Brian Dunn may complicate the search for a new chief and illustrate the need for a company's founder to sometimes cede control to the next generation for the good of the company.
