What CompTIA is doing to boost the female ranks in IT

Nancy Hammervik, senior vice president of industry relations at CompTIA, writes that despite some notable female company leaders, there is work to be done when it comes to women reaching the corporate-leadership level in the IT industry. "The industry needs more female involvement. At a time when women are beginning to assume IT leadership positions, their scarcity at lower levels is sure to catch up in a few years and counter all their gains," she writes, noting that CompTIA has developed a member group, Advancing Women in IT Community, that focuses on empowering women with the knowledge and skills needed to build successful IT careers.
