Bridge replacement to be done in 9 days or less

The Iowa Department of Transportation will use the accelerated bridge construction technique on a project in the town of Massena. The 83-year-old, 40-foot by 30-foot Massena Bridge will be replaced with a "single-span, 120-foot by 44-foot bridge in nine days or less." Several prefabricated bridge elements and system technologies will be used, including sliding the new bridge into place.
