Eckrich turns to SMS for campaign to aid service members' families

An text message marketing appeal from John Morrell Food Group's Eckrich is part of a campaign to benefit the families of service members. The initiative, in cooperation with Operation Homefront, asks mobile users to text a keyword to a short code to make a $5 donation. Eckrich also is extending the campaign across several media so that "basically everywhere that consumers see Eckrich, they will see Operation Homefront," said Jennifer Zmrhal, senior brand manager at Eckrich.
