Job-training program for veterans has more than 60,000 open slots

A federal job-training program for veterans has filled only about a third of its open slots, according to federal auditors. The program covers tuition for veterans who want to take classes at community colleges in subjects such as nursing, construction and computers. Veterans have until Oct. 1 to apply for the program.
