Senate gets set to vote on online sales tax bill

The Senate may vote as soon as next week on a bill to allow states to require online retailers to collect sales taxes. Amazon supports the measure, along with state governments looking to boost tax revenue and brick-and-mortar retailers who say it levels the playing field. "We don't think it is a tax increase. We think it is a collection issue," said David French, NRF's chief lobbyist.
