Bills call for CMS to release more physician data

Health policy experts said releasing Medicare physician payment data is of little use unless it is put into context, so House members from Wisconsin introduced a bill to require the CMS to provide information to gauge whether physicians use health care resources wisely. Similar legislation has been introduced in the Senate, and both bills seek to reduce variations in the practice of medicine to help control costs.
