Companies hope to trim overhead costs to drive profits

Two-thirds of companies say they plan to trim overhead by 10% over the next one to two years to save on costs, according to a global survey by AlixPartners. One-third hope to decrease costs by 11% to 20%. Companies are recognizing they can't rely on sales to solely drive profits in a slow-growth economy, so they are also focusing on cost reduction.
