Putin: Military force can be used in Ukraine, the "new Russia"

Russia's Parliament has approved the use of military force to invade Ukraine, says Russian President Vladimir Putin, who called the eastern Ukraine region "new Russia." Putin said the Federation Council, the Russian Parliament's upper house, has given him the right to use armed forces. "I really hope that I do not have to exercise this right and that by political and diplomatic means we will be able to solve all of the sharp problems," he said.
